The Ether Electric scooter will be launched in 6 new cities by 2020. These six cities are all set to launch in Hyderabad first. Let’s find out more about this!
After a successful launch in Bangalore and Chennai, Hero MotoCorp plans to launch its Ether Electric scooter backed by six new cities in India by 2020. The first of these is Hyderabad.
A profile photo of the Ether Electric scooter has been updated on social media. The main reason why Ether writes about it in Telugu is that it was originally planned to be released in Hyderabad. So the language spoken in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is Telugu so it was written in Telugu.
Earlier, it was revealed that Ether’s official destinations are in Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.
Ether was first launched in Bangalore in 2017. But deliveries have begun in 2018. In 2019, the company will expand its network to Chennai. Plans say their expansion should be even greater by 2020. The company will launch their product in 2020. Meanwhile, Bajaj Chetak is set to release its electric scooter. Chetak releases its vehicle, so Ether has to withstand some competition.
Ether launched two scooters during launch. One of them is the S340 and the S450. 340 discontinued last year. This is because there is more than 90% demand for a 450 e-scooter. Now only Ether 450 is for sale in Bangalore and Chennai. So these were discontinued because there was no high demand for Ether 340.
The Ether 450 is priced at Rs 1.25 lakh. But with the reduction of GST rates on electric vehicles, these are now priced at Rs. 1.12 lakh. The Ether 450 was well received in both Bangalore and Chennai. It is available in a single white paint scheme, the front apron has a black touch and comes with premium features. These include TFT color display, LED lighting on the front and rear, and over-the-air software and firmware updates.
It has Bluetooth, Vehicle Tracking and Vehicle Diagnostics with built-in reverse park assist features. This feature allows the rider to pull the scooter in reverse direction to facilitate parking and to get out of the parking lot.
The Ether 450 Brushless DC Motor (BLDC) is equipped with a 2.4 kilowatt lithium-ion battery pack. The battery delivers 60 km / h in Eco mode, 50 km / h in regular mode and 80 km / h in 3.9 seconds. The batteries come with a 3-year unlimited km warranty.
Ether Energy is also investing in fast charging systems in Bangalore and Chennai. There are 10 fast charging points in Chennai today. Some more charging points will be made. Until December 2019, however, Ether 450 owners were given free charging.
